My approach to nutrition and wellness
I practice a holistic approach to nutrition, health, and wellness which means that in my coaching sessions, we’ll talk about food as well as other areas of your life, and how they are connected. My approach is based on the principle that we are what we eat but also how, why, and when we eat.
We’ll look at the roots of nutrition or lifestyle imbalances, not simply the symptoms. Does stress or anxiety cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? Are you on the go all of the time and can’t find the time for self-care? I believe that achieving wellness is not one-dimensional and that everything is linked. I help the women who I work with identify those links while improving their diet and lifestyle in order to restore harmony to the mind-body connection.
My approach does not focus on calorie counting or standardized diets. I practice a non-restrictive and personalized approach that works for you in the long term. You are in control of your health goals and I simply guide you to reach them – the power is always in your hands!
My approach to yoga
Beyond the physical benefits of yoga, yoga is also a powerful way to deal with stress and anxiety. Following the teaching of my Indian Guru, I teach traditional Indian Hatha yoga. I also incorporate yoga into my coaching programs when it is required.
Despite the current trend of yoga group classes, yoga is essentially a personal practice.
Each individual is different and has different physical and mental needs, therefore each practice should be adapted to the individual. This is why I practice a one-on-one approach to yoga, guiding students to develop their personalized practice with the right combination of mantra (chanting), pranayama (breath-work), mudras (hand gestures), and asanas (postures).
